About Carl Horne

Carl Horne of Swingplex Golf Fitness, Phoenix/Scottsdale, ArizonaCarl W. Horne is the developer of  the SwingPlex golf fitness program. Additionally, Carl has written several fitness articles for golf magazines and is the Fitness Director of Tips4Golf.com, a new state-of-the-art website for golf instruction.

Carl Horne began his formal training as a staff member of the Los Angeles Sports Medicine Clinic in 1987. After three years of full time clinical training, he became certified by the Board of Orthopedic Surgeons of the Los Angeles Sports Medicine Clinic. He was certified as a level 4 technician which was the highest level within the clinic. It was during this time that he was recruited by the Los Angeles Clippers medical staff.   In 1990 Carl began working for the LA Clippers as the team’s strength and conditioning coach and rehabilitative technician. He traveled full time with the team until 1994. He left the Clippers in 1995 and went on to work (and travel) with the Phoenix Suns as an independent contractor where he continued to provide strength, conditioning and rehabilitative services until 1997. It was during this time that Carl started his own business In2One.

Among his various career skills, Carl is a certified Black Belt in the Korean martial art of Taekwondo. He is also a Ballet and Yoga instructor and a Tai-Chi enthusiast. Carl co-authored the popular fitness book, “Strengthen the NBA Way”. He as well carries a USGA handicap index of 1.8 and is a competitive tournament golfer.

Carl’s philosophy is that golfers are unique athletes with very specific needs. Golfers need to choose a professional trainer who personally understands the biomechanics of the golf swing. Carl addresses golf training from two perspectives; being both a professional trainer and being a competitive golfer.
